Reasons Why Gifted People Should Follow Their Abilities

The following document is from a Christian or Catholic perspective and for those with blessings/gifts that struggle with judgements or fears from their faith base. This document was created through extensive discussions and research within the Christian faith community and those with the qualifications to make the analysis below.

The argument of Deuteronomy warning of Wizards, witches and so forth is based on historical facts of that time – discussing those that practice Polytheistic practices (worshiping multiple Gods or themselves); additionally there are warnings of those that swindle or take advantage. What the warnings are about are those that either say they are speaking the Word but are distinctly not or are manipulating others with the hope of profit or personal gain, not a desire to help, heal or speak messages from the Divine or be instruments of peace. The historical reference is clear; it was a different time and society, where there was a great deal of religious upheaval and just as many false prophets or swindlers as in today’s time. Those that did not praise God for messages or prophecies or plain lied to people by giving them “messages” and then essentially robbing them of their money is where the problem was. Other portions of Deuteronomy then go on to speak of Prophets ….

17 The LORD said to me: “What they say is good. 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him. 19 I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name.

Information I have obtained from a respected ordained minister (theological degrees, Masters in Divinity, etc.) within our denomination had the following to say (paraphrased) regarding me questioning my gifts, and the “why me”, “did God choose me”, “why are people judging me” questions…

Her edited message in part:

Read any of the prophets, and you have biblical affirmation of your gifts. It is arrogant and small-minded for anyone to claim God is not continuing to work through prophets today. Do they really want to claim that they know what God is doing today and say what God can’t do?

1Cor. 12 Paul speaks of the gifts of the spirit and names, utterance of knowledge, wisdom, the gift of prophecy and working miracles, speaking in tongues, interpreting tongues, discerning spirits. Since we worship this same Spirit today, these gifts continue to be bestowed on people today. You are expressing these gifts, given to you by God to serve God. As the UCC say, God is still speaking–through intuition, dreams, visions, “hunches.”

Is. 6–he has a vision that is pretty far out! He saw and spoke to the Seraphim, and was given messages and hope.

Isaiah is full of “oracles” which had to have come from visions and prophetic intuitive sensing.

If Jeremiah could be gifted as a prophet before he was born as a way that God works (Jer. 1:4) why not you? Obviously for reasons we may never know God chooses some to have the gifts you manifest. And yes, there are “false prophets” but in every case, their lies further their own agenda, rather than addressing righteousness and justice. If your knowing furthers love and justice, it is of God, I believe.

The prophets are always saying, “the word of the Lord came to me…” That is what happens to you.

Imagine Ezekiel and the dry bones (Ez. 37) or his vision of the chariot (Ez. 1). You know most people must have thought HE was crazy and possessed!

Then there is Jonah who had the gift and tried to run away from God and not use it.

Consider Samuel’s calling, paranormal by every standard–hearing voices?? (1 Sam. 3)

It is hard to get biblical literates to accept that God still works in these miraculous ways today, but we have different ways to view it because of science and education. You will likely not convince everyone, but hopefully this makes you feel even better and more confident about it in your own soul.

These words from my trusted source who has far more religious and theological knowledge and studies under her belt that most of those people you encounter that will pass snap judgements hopefully are helpful. Those that criticize your choice to follow divine gifts are in fact violating another scripture – ‘Just not lest ye be judged’.

I feel I’d be denying my God if I DIDN’T follow his command to use my gifts. How could I dare question his intent to use me?

I think there are indeed “chosen” people to pass on messages of healing. What we do is offer peace of mind – and strengthening of faith – some of our clients end up realizing there IS a beyond, therefore there is a God & Heaven… that is huge. They realize a lot in that moment, that our souls are real, sin does have consequence, their loved ones do go somewhere Good and are safe, Angels exist, healing is possible, we are NOT ALONE, there is hope. This is what I believe God is calling us to do… pass this hope on to others. Sometimes just hearing from a loved one, or knowing their future is safer and brighter than they originally thought is all they need to continue on and reaffirm their faith in Him. Never once have we inappropriately taken from, used, lied to, mislead a client. We have never touted WE are the source – I know for a fact I’ve always acknowledged that I am not in control of this, that when I’m meant to “tune in”

it is because of pure Divine inspiration and His will. So when people want to question you – perhaps ask them when they were told they could speak on the behalf of God. Nobody has all the answers – but I am sure, deep in my heart, we are doing good works, in His name.

On Friday, May 13th the S.P.I.R.I.T. team was dispatched to the apartment home of Mirabai in Sacramento. By the time Mirabai contacted S.P.I.R.I.T. she was at her wit’s end, having been physically assaulted, pursued, and harassed by a spirit or spirits since childhood.

Now in her sixties, and a sensitive herself, Mirabai seemed to be the focal point of the attacks, although many of her family members had fallen suddenly and unexpectedly ill in the last few years, as the attacks seemed to have intensified. The physical, violent assaults in the back master bedroom of Mirabai’s apartment home had become so unbearable in fact that Mirabai had not slept in the bedroom for over a year. A hostage in her own home, she was sleeping on the couch, finding excuses not to go home to her apartment at night, and living in fear.

The Interview

To get more background on what may have caused this level of activity, S.P.I.R.I.T. members interviewed Mirabai about her entire past — this is a level of personal history the team seldom finds to be necessary and in most circumstances would be uncomfortable with. However, in this case, Mirabai was very comfortable with it and she said she wanted to get her story out; indeed the family’s history turned out to be the key to the case.

Mirabai explained that she grew up in rural Michigan in the 1950s. Her family was at the time able to acquire a beautiful recently built two-story home to make into the family homestead. After they moved into that house was when the family first experienced paranormal activity. Often dismissed by her parents and other family members, Mirabai experienced physical oppression by an unseen force, being held down in her bed, kicked, and seeing the “scary man” in the upstairs hallway of the home. The longer the family lived in the home, the more the physical attacks escalated — experienced (and still usually dismissed) at times by other members of the household, but always seeming to focus upon Mirabai herself, as she was becoming more and more sensitive to the paranormal as time went on.

When Mirabai’s family finally left the state for California decades later, Mirabai felt a sense of both sadness and relief — sadness at leaving her hometown behind forever, and relief that her quietly endured paranormal nightmare was finally over.

Except that it wasn’t. The malevolent entity followed her and her family to California, and the attacks continued to escalate. Mirabai’s surviving family members were no longer able to dismiss the attacks, and indeed two of them ended up in the hospital with serious conditions. Mirabai tried to combat the force with her own gifts and research, but found herself ultimately oppressed by a force that had had her under its thumb since childhood.

In April of 2015, just over a year before the S.P.I.R.I.T. team was called in, Mirabai states that she was attacked in her sleep in the back bedroom, being awakened by a severe pressure in her skull and then being picked up out of bed and violently thrown across the room. She called 911, not knowing what was happening. First Responders found no evidence of a break-in, and nothing medically wrong with her aside from being visibly upset and shaken. It was after this incident that Mirabai refused to sleep in the back master bedroom anymore.

Mirabai conducted research into the history of her childhood home, and was astonished to find that the home had been built just after World War II by a man who had claimed at the time to be a German immigrant who fled Germany during the war. The man died in the home shortly before Mirabai’s family had moved in.

Although impossible to prove, Mirabai herself and three sensitives on the S.P.I.R.I.T team unanimously concurred: this was the man whose spirit had persecuted Mirabai’s family for decades — the restless and angry spirit of not just a German immigrant, but an officer of Germany’s Third Reich who had fled Germany after the war to escape prosecution for holocaust war crimes in the Nuremberg Trials. Such a spirit would arguably not have been at peace with a minority family moving in to the house that he built to escape discovery of his crimes against humanity.

However, S.P.I.R.I.T. members also felt that Mirabai also had several friendly or familial spirits around her, possibly trying to protect her from the negative entity. Mirabai confirmed that she often felt surrounded by what a relative of hers had described as her “minions” and recounted an incident in which the dark entity said to her in a dream, “my minions are stronger than your minions. You have nothing.”

Mirabai and the team members also picked up on the presence of the spirit of a kind but sad older gentleman who had died in the apartment building; indeed, a year before an old man had died downstairs and had not been discovered for two weeks. This spirit, however, could not be shown to be haunting Mirabai’s apartment specifically (apartment hauntings can often be subject to “transient spirits” form other areas of an apartment building).

The Investigation

S.P.I.R.I.T. team members felt a heavy, oppressive presence in the back master bedroom, and were able to capture anomalous orb photographs, one of which shows the orb in motion during an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) session. A “red orb” was also captured just after the EVP session. Colored orbs in motion like this taken indoors cannot be readily explained as dust or light refraction, and while not conclusive, must be considered as possible, even probable, spirit activity.miribai1_fotor

Multiple EVP’s were captured, as well as hits on the SB11 Spirit Box:

In response to the question “How many spirits are here?” the SB 11 Spirit Box responded with “12” two times in a row. This would seem to confirm the presence of multiple spirits around Mirabai, attempting to help and protect her. Indeed, one of the SB11 hits said, “Help her.” Orbs can be seen plainly flying in and out of the shot on video of the SB11 Spirit Box and EVP sessions conducted in the home that evening.miribai2_fotormiribai3_fotor

The Cleansing

The apartment was cleansed by the team with holy water, sage and Palo Santo wood, and the sealing of doors and windows with Himalayan salt and black tar water. During the cleansing, S.P.I.R.I.T. team member Brent George shouted in German at the “soldier spirit” or “Soldaten Geist” that he must leave the home forever. An orb was seen on video by Jon darting away from the group as Brent shouted at the spirit in German. Moments later, during this forced cleansing that seemed to connect with the negative entity in an unexpected way, the same orb was possibly caught on still flash photography being forcibly evicted from the apartment by the S.P.I.R.I.T. team:miribai4_fotormiribai5_fotor

This was a difficult and rare type of case for the team, as we were dealing with an evil but human spirit that was not interested in interacting or telling its story; it was interested only in hiding from the team and continuing its decades-old campaign of hate and violence against Mirabai and her family. The cleansing thus had to be particularly strong in this case, incorporating innovative cleansing techniques, such as the use of tar water and yelling at it in a way and in a language that would (and did) get its attention.

As of the writing of this article (August 2016) Mirabai has experienced no further negative paranormal activity in the apartment. Although understandably still unnerved and experiencing anxiety after a lifetime of persecution by a vicious and malevolent spirit, Mirabai has attempted to sleep in the back master bedroom a couple times, but still has a lot of recovery to do from this experience, but she is beginning to be able to reclaim peace in her life. As of this time, the negative spirit seems to have been removed from Mirabai’s life, and there have been no further attacks. Her protective spirits seem to be stronger around her now, and lifting her energy up.

Case Closed

Classification: Active spiritual attack by a dark but formerly human entity.

A BRIEF HISTORY of the INCUBI and the SUCCUBI

What is an incubus? What is a succubus? Are they real, or the stuff of fantasy and science fiction? Where do they come from? What do they want with humanity?

As paranormal investigators, we have only seen a small handful of cases that may even possibly have been what is known as an incubus. They are exceedingly rare. Such cases DO happen, though. The most famous and well-documented case was the 1974 case of Doris Bither in Culver City, California, who was repeatedly raped by an unknown force. A local university even investigated the case. The case was the basis for the 1978 novel “The Entity” which was later released as a major motion picture.

So what are these things? There is to this date a lot of debate about that question. Most people who acknowledge their existence seem to agree that they are demonic in nature. An incubus is loosely defined as a male spirit who engages in sexual intercourse with a woman. The plural of incubus is incubi. A succubus, then, is a female spirit who has sexual intercourse with a man. The plural of succubus is succubi. There is some evidence to suggest that same-sex incubus and succubus encounters also take place.

These sexual encounters most typically take place just as a person is falling asleep, or right after they are awakened, often in the middle of the night. However, they can happen at any time, even in broad daylight, as was seen in the Doris Bither case.

The stuff of fantasy and science fiction?  Hardly. These types of entities have been reported since the 10th Century A.D. and even before that. Those ancient claims before the Dark Ages are the same as the claims today: unseen entities that force themselves upon the living at bedtime and engage in full penetrative intercourse with their bodies, either against their will, or consensually.

Consensually?  You mean someone might have sex with one of these things of their own free will, even inviting it? Again yes, and history is littered with examples of this — most pointedly witches burned at the stake for “wanton fornication with devils.” Indeed, sex with demonic spirits was one of the most common charges during the Salem Witch Trials.

S.P.I.R.I.T investigated a case in which a young woman became detached from her family and her responsibilities, instead locking herself in her room for hours at a time talking to and apparently engaging in prolonged consensual intercourse with the entity.

As a lifelong student of the paranormal (and having grown up in an extremely haunted house) I have personally researched and studied the question of the incubi and succubi for decades. I have come to the inescapable conclusion that these entities are very very real, and potentially harmful. Attempting to summon one will ALWAYS end in disaster, ESPECIALLY using a Ouija Board. That is like feeding yourself to a pool of starving man-eating sharks. Long-term consensual cases are rare and can be very dangerous.

The toughest cases to document are of course the rare consensual cases – people just don’t report that they are getting it on with a demon on a regular basis. The question doesn’t crop up at the office water cooler. So why would anyone consent to such a thing in the first place? Surely only people who have problems with social interactions with other people would even consider such a thing. Again, no. The truth is, Lucy Liu, Anna Nicole Smith, even porn stars have all publicly admitted to ongoing sexual relations with amorous spirits. When asked why, the answer is always the same: sex with these spirits is ridiculously pleasurable, as they have the ability to manipulate our bodies in ways that a human may not be able to.

How dangerous is it? There has been a lot of debate about that question. An ongoing sexual relationship with an entity is essentially a personal choice, and one assumes the risks involved, just as in any other relationship. You can’t get a disease from a spirit, and you’re not going to get pregnant (believe it or not, there is some debate in paranormal communities about this last point). However, it is very important to understand why an entity would want to engage in sexual acts with a living human body. The answer is very simple: life force and metabolic energy. Sure, it is pleasurable for them (the spirits) as well, but the end game is that during the sex act they can and every single time will take some of your life force energy. This energy is eventually replaced by your body’s metabolism and heart, but losing too much of it at one time could leave you weakened enough to catch a flu or just simply be completely exhausted.

Some people claim that sex with an incubus or succubus steals pieces of your soul, the more religious folks among us typically suggest that there are afterlife repercussions to sex with these entities. An online forum I once read made the more ludicrous suggestion that each consensual encounter with an incubus or succubus is a month in Hell. Seems everyone has an opinion about this.     

Like any other relationship, a willing and consensual sexual relationship with a spirit most likely boils down to making smart choices — practice safe paranormal, people!

The more disturbing element is the other half of all of this — forcible rape and sexual attack by a spirit. Not okay in any realm, and we need to know how to combat and stop such attacks. It’s part of what we aim to be able to do as paranormal investigators.

Understanding the Incubi and Succubi

In order to figure out how to stop an unwanted forcible incubus or succubus attack, we have to first gain a better understanding of what these entities are, and where they come from.

According to some occult texts, the incubi and succubi were the demonic offspring of Lilith and Lucifer, essentially Hell’s equivalent of Adam and Eve. This is of course assuming you believe in such things as Hell and the Devil. There is a distinction here – these are not ordinary demons. The demons are the Legion of angels who fell from Heaven and followed Lucifer to create Hell in the Book of Genesis in the Bible. The incubi and the succubi are different — they are the specific offspring of Lucifer and Lilith. Some esoteric texts differ on the question of how many of these incubi and succubi were created, but the general consensus in such circles puts the number at between 10,000 – 20,000 of them. Considering that Legion is supposedly a force that numbers in the millions, we are talking about entities that are pretty sparse in number by comparison. Most stories agree that Lilith was placed in charge of the incubi and succubi — some texts have her expelling them from Hell as outcasts, other texts (and this is the more common story) have her sending them out into the Earth to cause havoc and tempt humans into sin.

Then it gets even more complicated — there was a division amongst the incubi and the succubi themselves — upon being sent upon the Earth to do as they pleased, roughly half of them fell in love with humanity and decided to ally themselves with those humans who would listen. The rewards of this alliance were obvious — the human who accepts gets a demonic bodyguard for life, and mind blowing sex on a regular basis. The demon gets an endless supply of human life force energy, which to them is like filling up on High Octane Premium Unleaded Fuel.

The other half of these entities viewed humans as pathetic creatures undeserving of their mutual respect and love. This half of the incubi and succubi swore opposition to humanity, vowing to take as they please through forcible rape and physical assault on all but defenseless humans. This placed the “good” incubi and succubi in the awkward position of having to defend their willing human hosts against their own kind, which is where the situation essentially stands today.

The math works – a population of 7 billion humans affected by a spirit population of 20,000 at the maximum — the chances of running into an incubus or a succubus, whether friendly or evil (the word “evil” here simply means with intent to do harm to humanity, for the sake of the conversation) in one human lifetime, especially in the modern world, is low. It just doesn’t happen that often. When it does, the experience can range from a positive, almost religious experience to the most terrified a person has ever been in their life. Again, attempting to summon one of these entities will likely attract the wrong kind, and you’ll end up terrified and under constant attack.

How to Fight an Incubus or a Succubus    

Armed with this information, we can form a strategy in fighting off incubus and succubus attacks, then.

• Consent is Everything

The first key here is consent. Any willing consent or inviting the entity back, whether the entity is forcible or not, instantly undoes any cleansing or banishing, even the most impenetrable voodoo cleansing. It simply is not worth the paranormal investigator’s time to try to combat an entity who is being given the All Access Pass as soon as they (the investigators) leave a client’s home.

• They Are a Different Class of Demon – Holy Water May Have No Effect

The incubi and succubi were not created the same was as full-on demons (attack by a full demon is super rare and is noted by the presence of possession – incubi and succubi typically do not possess their hosts, as this is counterproductive to syphoning the host’s energy for fuel). They are offspring of fallen angels, as such many believe they are less affected by religious symbols such as a crucifix or Holy Water. Indeed, there are many documented cases of snickering and laughter as a priest attempted to confront an incubus with such methods. These methods will not hurt anything during a cleansing, but the informed investigator should be aware that they do not typically work on incubi and succubi. What you want are sealants that reinforce the client’s desire to be rid of the entity – lines in the sand that tell the entity it is not wanted and not invited — red brick dust, black salt, tar water, lines of powdered sage and pure sea salt (especially a mix of sea salt and sage). Smudging can be very effective. Incubi and succubi also seem to hate sandalwood, cedar, and Palo Santo wood smoke. They LIKE incenses that smell good; spreading frankincense and myrrh around is therefore usually less effective – burn smudges that smell bad to them, and again, cedar, Palo Santo wood, and sandalwood in particular seem to irritate them.

• GET LOST!!

Above all else, it is the client who has the ultimate power over the unwanted entity. Using the above methods — especially smudging and salt / sage lines – while the client participates in the cleansing and tells it “No more! I didn’t invite you here and I sever any tie you have formed with me or this house! I reject you and banish you from this house and from my life!” You get the idea….

• Sometimes They Come Back

Even if a cleansing (this should really be thought of as a banishing) goes perfectly, it is probably going to try to come back. It may attack in the form of sexual dreams. There is no easy way to combat this, but there are a few tricks that might help. Before the client goes to sleep, he or she should say aloud “I am alone and I am protected!” Have the client envision themselves surrounded by white light. Draw a circle of a powdered sage / sea salt mix around the bed, stating that nothing may enter the circle. Have the client meditate before bed and tell him or herself that if a sexual dream begins they will wake up. Anchoring the bed the way one would anchor a property may help. Incidentally, if an incubus or succubus ever shows / has shown itself in its true form to the client, it cannot appear in a dream as a human being. In the end, the client has to stay steadfast in telling the incubus or succubus to get out — it is not going to break the person’s will. The idea here is to sever all ties to the entity and give it the idea that it has been handed it’s walking papers and the client is not ever going to be worth its trouble. As a last resort, a period of total and steadfast abstinence from any sexual activity will likely cause the entity to lose interest and go away. This of course can be temporary, until the entity seems gone for good.

• Remember – It Wants You to Give In

A powerful incubus or succubus can take by force, as in the Doris Bither case. What it really wants though is your surrender – incubi and succubi want your energy, and getting you to give it willingly makes it a hundred times easier for them to take it. Refuse them every single time, and the attacks will stop when it figures out there are easier prey.

In my personal opinion, the reason the Doris Bither case went on so long (over a decade) could have been that she may have periodically been giving in to it. One such “weak moment” is all the encouragement the entity needs to hang around.

Conclusion

The incubi and succubi are ages old, very real and are among us, and from a paranormal study point of view, fascinating. They are completely invisible and often do not show up on most common paranormal investigation equipment. They are the least written about type of entity, and the most poorly understood. The Doris Bither case is the only known footage of a human engaging in sexual intercourse with a demon (against her will) but if one believes the anecdotal evidence, it happens more frequently than one could ever imagine.

Some have postulated that the incubi and the succubi are the original inspiration for the Vampire mythology. This investigator has personally seen numerous online testimonies claiming these entities destroyed lives, marriages, and families. I have also seen some testimonies claiming that a demon lover can be the most incredible experience of a person’s life.

No matter what any of the forums you may find online say (bad or good), the bottom line is, if you feel victimized, bullied, or forced into interaction with one of these entities, if it hurts you or scares you — you have the right and obligation to say NO and use the very effective methods listed above to regain your life. This is no different than if a living human was trying to force you into sexual acts, you wouldn’t find that acceptable – this is not either.

If you are being attacked, take control, set the boundaries, you do not have to live like this. There is no reason to accept being forced into sexual attacks; with the spirit realm or otherwise. You have the ability to reclaim your space.

 It is not understood whether ghosts (the spirits of deceased humans) can have sex with the living the way an incubus or a succubus can, though most would tend to think not. What is unanimously understood is that these entities are very powerful, much more so than any formerly human spirit, and any spiritual warfare with them will likely be primarily psychological warfare — for it is our very essence and cooperation that they desire the most. They know something we sometimes forget — that ultimately WE have the power to deal with them. Perhaps that understanding will lead paranormal investigators to one day capture convincing proof of the incubi and the succubi.

Out With the Old, In With the New:  A Haunted Warehouse in Elk Grove

The S.P.I.R.I.T. team was dispatched to a warehouse in the oldest section of Elk Grove, California. The new leasers of the warehouse space had begun extensive renovations to the office portions of the warehouse in order to set up their new business. As renovations progressed, employees began to complain of a feeling of being constantly watched, feeling an oppressive atmosphere, experiencing lights flickering, and hearing unexplained sounds.

This was a very large warehouse space with a full office addition inside of the warehouse, so flickering lights, sounds that cannot quite be placed, and dust orbs should all be expected in such a space, and not necessarily considered to be paranormal, unless there is corroborating evidence.

The Investigation

Flash photography was conducted throughout the warehouse space, as well as throughout the renovated offices. Not surprisingly, there were dust orbs in many of the warehouse shots. However, two orbs did stand out as possible paranormal anomalies, due to being brightly self-illuminated – the first of these was taken in a storage room where employees said they felt very uneasy.

Creepy room and photo anomolies

One anomaly was found in one of the warehouse photographs. The anomaly may be subject to a phenomenon known as “matrixing,” which refers to the human brain’s tendency to try to make order out of a jumbled or unclear image, and in particular to see faces or human forms. This natural tendency is something that must all be taken into account when taking photographs or video during any paranormal investigation. While ultimately inconclusive, the anomaly is nonetheless interesting.

Upon initial inspection, there does not appear to be anything out of the ordinary in this photograph of the office complex built into the interior walls of one end of the warehouse:

Look closely at the chair and monitor

Note the chair with the large monitor in front of it outside one of the office walls. Plastic wrap, packing supplies, and paper are stacked in the chair. Note that none of these materials are at all above the headrest of the chair. One of the yellow and grey columns is also reflected in the screen. There is nothing in the photograph that should be reflecting above the headrest of the chair, except for the yellow and grey column. However, closer inspection reveals what appears to be a vague and misty human figure (its back to the camera) sitting in the chair! Again, it should be noted here that this may well be nothing more than matrixing.

Ultimately, the photograph is subject to personal interpretation, and is not clear enough to be deemed conclusively paranormal. It is included in this article only as a curiosity.

The next phase of the investigation included an SB-11 Spirit Box session in one of the upstairs offices.

The group received several Class A spirit box responses, including the response of “Jim” four separate times in response to us asking if any spirits wanted to tell us their name.

The spirit box responded with “Seven” when asked how many spirits were present, and then followed up with a “Did you copy?” response.

When asked, “Do you want us to help you leave?” we heard the spirit box response “Yes!” When asked “Are you still with us?” we got the response “Working on it.” In closing the spirit box session, the final spirit box response said “Letty” (the client’s first name).

Taken together with the self-illuminated orbs and the anomaly with the chair, there does seem to be spirit activity taking place in the warehouse and in the warehouse offices.

This should perhaps not be surprising – the warehouse complex dates back to the Korean War when it was a military storage complex, and renovations often tend to stimulate previously dormant spirit activity. In this case, paranormal activity in the warehouse could not be confirmed beyond the spirit box responses, and therefore the nature or reason for any such activity could not be established.

The team conducted a full basic cleansing of both the warehouse and office spaces, which included saging, burning of a white candle, and sealing with holy water.

A later follow-up message from the clients stated that the activity had calmed down and employees no longer felt uneasy while working in the warehouse.   

Conclusion:  Inconclusive

The S.P.I.R.I.T. team was contacted by the paranormal group NCI (Non Corporeal Investigations) in Sacramento for a joint investigation in Placerville, California. The occupants of the country home in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains had contacted NCI with an emergency request for immediate help. The occupants claim was that the home had suddenly “exploded” in paranormal activity for no discernible reason. There had reportedly been no previous paranormal activity in the home.

Four members of the S.P.I.R.I.T. team and two members of NCI met at the driveway to the home in Coloma. This presented the first challenge – a  S.P.I.R.I.T. member does in fact own a 4×4 vehicle, but sadly, we didn’t bring it on this occasion.

Well, live and learn. We parked the cars on the grass and walked up the hill, though for subsequent trips up and down the hill the homeowners graciously shuttled us in their 4×4 SUV.

The home in Coloma (just outside of Placerville) is located six miles from Sutter’s Mill, where gold was first discovered in California.

Upon making friends with two of the largest German Shepherds any of the team members had ever seen, the team interviewed the homeowners about the recent paranormal activity they had experienced. It turned out that the activity had begun shortly after the homeowners made a discovery on their land while clearing a portion of their property for an orchard they planned to start: the vertical opening to a long forgotten mine shaft / claim that had been filled in, sealed off, and grown over with dense vegetation for decades. The homeowner then decided to excavate the opening, breaking the seal of time and opening the mine. The same evening they did this, their home reportedly exploded in paranormal activity, including flickering lights, the dogs tracking unseen objects and never letting their guard down, unexplained knocks on the walls and footsteps on the wooden floors, and unexplained shadows in doorways. Because of the geographical location, and the vertical dig style to access what once was undoubtedly a vein of gold on the hilltop, matching the “claim style” of dig that was common at the time, it is extremely likely that the homeowners had uncovered a forgotten and more than likely mined out small claim shaft dating back to the beginning of California’s Gold Rush, which began with the discovery of gold at Sutter’s Mill on January 24th, 1848.

The Investigation:

Team members set about documenting an abnormal number of bright orbs in the home (the home was not at all dusty). Of particular note, notice how the dogs appear to be looking at the orbs and even guarding against them as the orbs attempt to and do enter the home from outside. This makes a strong case that these orbs, captured in flash photography, are not mere dust: the dogs are seeing and reacting to them.

The team was also able to verify the phenomenon of shadows crossing doorways with two pictures taken within seconds of each other, both taken with a flash:coloma7_fotor

coloma5_fotorNext, the team conducted a Spirit Box session with the SB 11 Spirit Box.

When asked who they were and why they were in the home, we got the clear reply, “Miners.”

When asked if they knew what year it was the SB11 said “2005.” (There was an old calendar from 2005 hanging on the wall in the room where the session took place.)

When asked if they knew what all of the devices we were using were (K2 meters, digital recorders, MEL Meter) we got the clear reply “Science.”

These SB11 Spirit Box hits do, in the opinion of the S.P.I.R.I.T. team, go well beyond coincidence and make a reasonable case for intelligent spirit communication.

The team then conducted an EVP session. We ask how many spirits were there with us and we receive a Class A EVP “2-4.” This is significant for two reasons: First, it substantiates the level of paranormal activity that was seen elsewhere in the investigation, as well as the level of activity claimed by the homeowners, validating their experiences. Second, in the 1800s, it was a common practice for mine workers and other blue collar workers to say each digit separately and clearly for numbers with more than two digits – this was often to be heard over the noise of machinery. This practice is still common in some vocations even today.

The Cleansing:

The team saged the house and advised the spirits in the home that they could move on. The occupants were instructed on re-saging the house, and encouraging the spirits to move on. The homeowners were also advised to plant a fruit tree at the mine entrance (they resealed the mine for safety purposes) in memoriam of the miners who apparently lost their lives in the mine over 150 years ago.

Conclusion:

Given the fact that the homeowners had never experienced any paranormal activity before, and were suddenly inundated with paranormal activity inside and outside of their home upon opening the mine, and given the fact that NCI and S.P.I.R.I.T. were able to verify much of the activity being claimed, we feel that there is a strong case to be made here that sometime shortly after the beginning of the California Gold Rush in the mid-1800s, a group of 24 miners lost their lives in a small claim and were never heard from again. Given that many gold diggers in the Gold Rush were from other parts of the country, and the site is only 6 miles from Sutter’s Mill, this is a completely plausible scenario, given the evidence. Indeed, small mining teams routinely consisted of between 22 to 33 miners, depending on the size of the strike, during the California Gold Rush, according to Wikipedia.com.

The homeowners followed the team’s advice, saging the home regularly and planting a fruit tree at the mine site, remembering the miners at long last.

No further paranormal activity has been reported in the home.

S.P.I.R.I.T. INVESTIGATION: SUNDOWN AT THE GRAVEYARD: THE MYSTERIOUS LADY IN WHITE

In a small rural cemetery near the Sacramento area, a local legend seems to be living on, so to speak. (The cemetery’s name and exact location is being withheld for security reasons.)

An apparition known locally as the “Lady in White” is sometimes reportedly seen walking amongst the tombstones of this cemetery, which dates back to 1876. The Lady in White is often seen just after dark, according to reports.  S.P.I.R.I.T. team members were dispatched to investigate.

The team arrived at the cemetery at around 6:30 p.m. This gave team members ample time to familiarize themselves with the grounds before dark. The team split loosely into 3 groups – after dark, no one was to go anywhere in the cemetery alone.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. I captured an EVP in the northwest corner of the graveyard. This particular corner of the property seemed to lend itself to photographs that were out of focus for no reason, people feeling a drain of their energy or feeling otherwise uncomfortable there, and a sudden drain on device batteries. The EVP I captured was in response to my asking the entity its name – the answer was an audible “Victor.”

This coincided with two nearby gravestones with the first name “Victor” on them. What’s interesting is that it is this section of the cemetery where the “Lady in White” often seems to originate from. The two Victors laid to rest there were assumedly father and son, with the mother “Carol” laid to rest between them. Carol’s gravestone indicated that she had been associated with the medical field.

After I captured the EVP and left that corner of the cemetery to investigate other areas, Kaylie and James were drawn to the same northwest corner of the cemetery by a sense of unrest there, and were drawn to the grave of the elder Victor, without any prior knowledge that I had captured the “Victor” EVP there.  Sporadic K2 Meter hits were also noted at the elder Victor’s grave.

On the northeast corner of the cemetery there is a small unimproved open area owned by the cemetery board of trustees, but not actually part of the cemetery.  This area was unkempt, with piles of leaves and a disheveled wood pile. As night fell on the cemetery, two investigators found the bare skeleton of a bird surrounded by a rough circle of raw corn kernels, in this unimproved area.  A few feet away from this was evidence of a small campfire. This led S.P.I.R.I.T. team members to postulate that the area may have been used for some type of pagan small animal sacrifice ritual. Two of the team’s sensitives felt there may be human remains / unmarked graves in this unimproved area, but this could not be verified.

One of the graves in the cemetery appeared to be fresh, and thus was easier for S.P.I.R.I.T. sensitives to pick up on residual energy from the gravesite. No temporary headstone had been placed at the grave yet. Our sensitives felt that it was the new grave of a man in his 30s who had died unexpectedly in a car crash. This information has not, as of this writing, been verified.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. a Spirit Box session at a grave site proved inconclusive. At the end of that session, Amy and Miranda approached the group with a photograph they had just captured in the northwest corner of the cemetery, near the grave of the two Victors and Carol:

This photograph is what is known as a “mist” photograph. It was a clear night with no fog whatsoever, and there is no logical explanation for the photograph.

Did Amy and Miranda capture a photograph of the Lady in White as she left her grave for her nightly evening stroll?  Could the “Lady in White” be Carol, a former nurse or doctor, whose husband appears to be not at rest?

Such postulations are easy and tempting to make, and who knows – perhaps it’s even true. But the evidence does not support that. The evidence gathered by the S.P.I.R.I.T. team members on this investigation does strongly suggest that something is not at rest in this peaceful rural cemetery, and by the end of the night, we were unable to either confirm or debunk the Mystery of the Lady in White.
